LEVEL 2 AWARD FOR SECURITY OFFICER IN THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY

All individuals wishing to work in the Private Security Industry must hold a recognised qualification under the Private Security Act 2001 before applying for SIA licence. Humanpowers can help in arranging structured training programme that is endorsed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to obtain security operative licence. The learners are undertaking approximately 42 hours of learning to complete this qualification and the minimum of 29 contact hours (4 days) is undertaken in case of self-study. The topics covers importance of self working practices, roles and responsibilities of security officers, drug-misuse legislation, issues and procedures relevant to the role of a security officer, how to conduct effective search procedures, queue management, how to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations and problem-solving techniques when resolving conflict.

LEVEL 2 AWARD FOR DOOR SUPERVISORS IN THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY

This qualification is designed for learners wishing to apply for Security Industry Authority (SIA) door supervisor licence and work in relevant field. The participants of this course will undertake approximately 61 hours of learning and the SIA stipulates a minimum of 44 contact hours (6 days) if self-study is undertaken. The topics will include main characteristics of the Private Industry, the importance of safe working practices, drug-misuse legislation, issues and procedure relevant to the role of a door supervisor, licensing law, queue management, how to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situation, problem solving techniques when resolving conflict, physical interventions and the implications of their use and the use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others.

LEVEL 2 AWARD FOR CCTV OPERATORS - PUBLIC SPACE SURVEILLANCE 
IN THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY

This qualification is designed for learners wishing to work as CCTV operator and is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications. The learners are expected to complete 31 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 22 contact hours (3 days) if self-study is undertaken. This qualification include the main characteristics of Private Security Industry, the importance of safe working practices, drug-misuse legislation, the purpose of CCTV systems, surveillance techniques, and producing evidential documentation.

LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE FOR WORKING AS A CLOSE PROTECTION OPERATIVE
WITHIN THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY

This qualification is ideal for anyone wishing to work as Close Protection Operative as it provides them with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA close protection licence. This qualification must be undertaken over a minimum of 12 days and the SIA stipulate 130.9 hours as minimum contact time. The participants will cover topic Treat and Risk Assessment, Walking Drills, Embus and Debus, Incident Management, Legislation relevant to the role, Operational Planning and Surveillance.
